In the quaint, alpine resort of Saas Fee, the skiing ranges between 1800 metres in the village to 3600 metres at the highest accessible point, the Mittelallalin.  The largest of the Saas Fee ski areas sits between Morenia at 2550 metres and the Mittelallalin, and being a glacier ski area provides snow sure-skiing all year round, including through the summer months.  Therefore, whilst most European resorts will offer snow surety in the busy week of February half-term, Saas Fee offers winter skiing from early November right through Easter to the end of April.

There are over 100kms of piste in Saas Fee with 22 lifts of different types.  The modern Metro-Allalin system, with its 30 man gondolas whisks skiers up from the village once a minute, producing one of the fastest uplift systems in the Alps.

Our beginners start their school ski holiday in the village beginners are where there are four easy to master lifts.  Even in the village ski area there is a mix of open slopes and tree lined skiing which adds some variation to the learning experience.  The progression from the village beginner area area is to the nice easy blues on the glacier at Spielboden which is accessed by gondolas from the centre of the village.  The long, gentle runs at Spielboden are bordered by stunning glaciers with some deep, turquoise blue crevasses which really give the feel of skiing in the mountains.

For the more accomplished skiers, they can take Europe’s highest underground train from Felskin to the Mittelallalin and enjoy the tough reds and blacks in some of the purest mountain air you will ever breathe.

Saas Fee also offers the wide, steep pistes in another ski area called Plattjen and more technical reds and blacks between Spielboden and the village home runs.

Accommodation in Saas Fee and Saas Grund

The accommodation in the area is provided by a number of hotels, either in Saas Grund, just 10 minutes by bus in the vallety below Saas Fee or in Saas Fee village.  All are small, owner-managed and family run hotels that can accommodate up to 60 students and staff.

All the rooms feature a shower and toilet as well as a dedicated restaurant for breakfast and for the home-cooked evening meals.

At each hotel, a packed lunch is provided for the students to take with them to eat during their lunch stop.  At Morenia there is a dedicated "picnic" area for visitors to sit and eat their lunch indoors.

All of our hotels have lounge facilities where students and staff can relax, play games or watch a film show.
