The ski area is called the Aletsch Arena, and is named after the Aletsch Glacier, which at 23kms in length, is the longest glacier in Europe.
Fiesch is a quiet and little known resort in the Canton of Valais, just a 3 hour drive or train journey from Geneva. The resort boasts kilometres of easy blue and red runs for beginners and intermediate skiers as well as some achievable but challenging black runs for the more advanced ski groups. Skiing starts at Fiescheralp, a car free resort set on a plateau above the town of Fiesch. The slopes reach from Fiescheralp to Riederalp via a third resort, Bettmeralp. The ski to Bettmeralp is easily achievable for beginners in their first week of skiing, providing the satisfaction of measurable progression and a great sense on achievement.
Fiescheralp sits at approximately 2200 metres altitude so you can be sure of good snow conditions even during late season Easter holidays. Uplift from the resort is by a new high speed gondola system which takes you directly to the ski shop and storage lockers.
For those staying at the Feriencentre, the resorts' purpose built sports training centre, we are able to provide hot lunches at the Berghaus, directly on the slopes at Fiescheralp. Alternatively packed lunches can be made available for those groups that wish to venture to Bettmeralp or even Riederalp, the furthest resort from Fiescheralp, for their lunch stop.
