School Skiing Safety Management System

A summary of the main points is as follows :-

School Ski, High Altitude, Snow-Sure Resorts

• We only use high altitude, snow-sure resorts in Switzerland. This means that the quality and depth of snow is maintained from December through to mid-April. Good quality snow dramatically reduces the incidence of accidents and injury

School Ski Instructors

• Our British School Ski Instructors are qualified by experience and or by Snow Sport England or B.A.S.I. qualifications
• In addition Our B.A.S.I. qualified Head Ski Instructor Assessor checks annually on the quality of  instruction provided by the ski staff to ensure that the teaching standards are excellent and that the lessons are delivered in a safe and enjoyable environment
• The fact that our British Ski Instructors teach the students all day from approximately 9:30am when they first arrive on the mountain to 3:30pm also enhances safety. The instructors accompany the children from the hotel to the slopes and only leave the children when they are certain that they have been handed back to the care of the school staff. The instructors stay with the same students throughout the week, get to know them and the students therefore feel comfortable bringing any physical or mental issues that are concerning them to the attention of our ski staff

School Ski Accommodation

• All our accommodations are inspected on a tri-annual basis by staff from Gower Tours who have all been trained by the Warwickshire Fire Brigade in the inspection of hotels.
• Accommodations are expected to conform to all local and national fire, safety and hygiene standards

School Ski Coaches

• All coaches that we contract in to service our school ski holidays are less then 5 years old
• Copies of licence details and liability insurance are attained on an annual basis and they have to provide evidence that they are equipped to deal to mechanical failures in Europe
• They also only use drivers with European experience and they provide evidence that their drivers are C.R.B. checked
• The coaches are equipped with safety belts and for your comfort a toilet, TV/DVD and hot drinks machine
