School Ski Trip Safety
The safety of the students and school staff is of course our top priority.
You would however be surprised how few injuries occur in skiing compared to other sports. Also the number of injuries has halved over the years and now stands at approx 2 injuries per thousand skier days. (see www.ski-injury.com for further information)
We are assured by our insurers that our accident record is second to none. The low number of incidents has been consistent in over 50 years of providing school ski holidays to students and we know that the principle reasons for this are the fact that
- Ski Gower has always chosen high altitude resorts in Switzerland and
- We have always used our own British Ski Instructors.
The high resorts provide good snow from December through to the end of April and it is a known fact that fewer accidents take place when the conditions are good.
Our British Ski Instructors ski with the children all day and so the students are always in a controlled environment and they can communicate excellently with their English speaking instructors ensuring that any physical or indeed mental concerns are not overlooked.
Of course being safe is not just about being safe on the slopes so please read the whole section to show how we manage the students' safety from School to Resort, through the whole week and back again.
