Choosing Your School Ski Company
The Initial Criteria for Your School Ski Trip:-
In our experience there are several key criteria the School Ski Trip leaders have to consider before deciding which tour operator to use. These are discussed below in no particular order as each School Ski Trip will have its own priorities
| All-Day Ski Instruction |
Most of our competitors have progressed from offering just 2 hours ski instruction a day to 4 hours. However our priority at Gower has always been the length of lesson time and so for 50+ years we have been offering all-day ski instruction, which means your children will receive at least 30 hours' instruction per week. So no early lesson time starts and no late finishes and no long lunch breaks to fill whilst you wait for the next lesson. If lesson time on snow is your top priority then you are with the right company already. Our clients return to Ski Gower year after year for this reason. |
| British Ski Instructors |
Combined with the above, another reason why our clients return year after year is because of our British Ski Instructors. It sounds obvious, but being taught to ski in your own language with Ski Instructors who speak fluent colloquial English considerably improves the students progression throughout the week. |
| Price |
Ski Gower is not the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive either. Our competitors offer cheaper prices to resorts that are not as high and snow sure as the resorts we use in Switzerland. They also utilise less expensive accommodation which is located a long way from the ski resort. We appreciate that many schools will choose such holidays, but overall the value for money at Ski Gower cannot be beaten. Good accommodation located in high, snow-sure resorts combined with our British Ski Instructors and 30+ hours a week on snow is overall exceptional value for money! |
| By Coach or by Air |
Traditionally most of our customers travel by coach, but in recent times we are now taking about one third of our customers by air from the large airports such as London, Birmingham and Manchester. See our discussion on Travel Options for more information. |
| Quality of Accommodation |
All our hotels have toilet and shower in the rooms as does our youth centre accommodation in Davos. The hoteliers have worked with Ski Gower groups for many years and know their needs in terms of both food and general assistance in resort. |
| In Resort Accommodation |
All our accommodations are within walking distance of the ski slopes (with the exception of Saas Fee where our accommodation in Saas Grund is just a 5 min coach ride). |
| On Piste Accommodation |
Many School Ski Group Leaders ask for on-piste accommodation. If that is your priority then we are sorry to state that we can't help you as our resorts in Switzerland do not offer this possibility. |
