School Skiing Tours to Fiesch

The school skiing tours area is called The Aletsch and is named after the glacier of the same name, which at 23kms in length, is Europe’s longest glacier.

The glacier runs from the Jungfrau near Wengen due south to the highest point in Fiesch at Eggishorn and then turns sharply right to run behind the pisted areas but on the other side of the mountain. This means that school skiing tours to Fiesch can take place from November through to the end of April, backed by the superb micro-climate of the Aletsch Glacier.

There are over 100kms of piste which stretch for 10kms from the eastern point at Fiescheralp to the western point at Riederalp, providing school skiing tours with a vast amount of skiing runs of all difficulties.

The beginners will start their school skiing tours immediately above Fiesch at Fiescheralp. Here there is a 100m beginner run adjacent to the hot lunch restaurant and the ski shop. Just below Fiescheralp, is the area that our British Skiing Instructors call “The Meadow”, which provides a superb progression, before hitting the six man chair, that takes the beginners and intermediates above Fiescheralp to the vast blue and red runs below Eggishorn.

From this point the beginners can perfect their skiing back down to Fiescheralp, whilst the intermediates can explore the wide-open skiing pistes towards Bettmeralp and Bettmerhorn and then onwards to Riederalp. This is truly a fantastic expansive area for school skiing tours.

British ski instructors for your school ski trip

Your students will get maximum time on snow for several reasons:-

  • Our British Skiing Instructors are only there for your school skiing tour. They will take their school skiing groups from the accommodation after breakfast. Their instruction begins as soon as you arrive at Fiescheralp. There is a minimum of 2 ½ hours instruction in the morning followed by a hot lunch followed by at least 2 ½ hours instruction before the end of the skiing day. All in all school skiing tours to Fiesch provide the students with in excess of 30 hours of skiing instruction per week
  • What makes things even better for the students, allowing them to maximise their time on the snow is the fact that the ski lift queues are minimal. Within a minute or two, the school students are up and off and looking forward to their next skiing run. School skiing tours to Fiesch thus really do provide the absolute maximum time on the snow
  • Our clients have always said that the instruction, which is carried out in mother-tongue English, is a huge benefit and makes things so much more easy for the students to learn and to perfect their skiing
  • A school skiing tour has traditionally been the most enjoyable of school trips and it remains as popular today as ever. School skiing tours with Ski Gower are that much more enjoyable because of the humour that the British skiing instructors can inject into the week for the students whilst keeping it safe and educational
  • Assessment of each student takes place on an hour by hour basis with our British skiing instructors. This means that we can react quickly to a student making a significant improvement in a matter of hours and he or she can be moved up a group either at the end of the day or even at lunchtime
