Europe's Largest Ski Resort
320kms of piste. Alt. 1560 – 2662m
There are 5 ski areas in the resort of Davos-Klosters. We mainly use Parsenn/Gotschna as this is the most modern area and the funicular is only 15 minutes' walk from our hotel. The state of the art ski shop is next door to the funicular and our groups store their skis there overnight, thus making the stroll to and from the hotel quite pleasant.
The pistes are wide and plentiful and by the end of the first week, with the guidance of our experienced British ski teachers, even most beginners will be able to ski the long and beautiful run across the back of the mountain down to Klosters. Our hotel provides all en-suite rooms for our school groups and has a games room to occupy the students in the evening. Outside of the hotel there are many leisure facilities. There is an indoor swimming pool with slides, as well as the largest ice-rink in Switzerland on the town's summer athletics track! If they have a home game during your stay there is also the exciting possibility of watching one of Switzerland's top ice hockey sides, H.C. Davos. For over a century Davos has been a popular destination for the rich and ailing because the microclimate in the high valley is deemed excellent by doctors and recommended for lung disease patients. Before the advent of artificial ice-rinks in smaller resorts Davos was a mecca for speed skating. Many international championships were held here, and many world records were set. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote an article about skiing in Davos in 1899. Subsequently, Davos became famous as a ski resort, especially with the British.
