St. Moritz Print

Probably the Most Famous Ski Resort in the World - and used only by SkiGower for British school groups for over 50 years!

St Moritz in SwitzerlandBudget Hotel, 350kms of piste. Alt. 1750 – 3303m

Still one of the most famous resorts in the World, but at a budget you can afford. Our original destination in 1960, so we and our ski teachers know it very well.

The ski-lift near the first station at Corviglia (2436m) still gives beginners one of the best environments in Switzerland in which to learn to ski. There are two accesses to the lift system, the funicular to Corviglia and the gondolas from Signal. The latter is a 20 minute flat walk from our accommodation.

The length and breadth of the skiing here is enormous. There are good progressions from the beginners' area down to Marguns and then higher up to our favourite intermediate run from Trais Fluors. Even by the end of their first week most of the beginners would be able to experience the top to bottom run from Piz Nair (3057m) to the town.

St Moritz in SwitzerlandWe still have connections with the excellent St. Moritz Youth Hostel, which was our main accommodation for 30 years. However, we also work closely with a budget hotel, which can accommodate around 100 people and provides en-suite facilities as well as a fantastic welcome from its owner.

Ten minutes' walk away are the ice rink and large indoor swimming pool, which also has an outdoor heated pool. A popular evening visit is to the nearby Hotel Sonne to sample their delicious home-made pizzas and combine them with an ice cream evening.
